Quick Overview of Issues
The following are some of the problems facing Apache County. These issues, and others, are what prompted me to decide to
run for Apache County Attorney.
- Apache County Financial Troubles
Financial troubles have created a deficit of $1 million in Apache County. We need a county attorney capable of giving sound legal advice in civil and criminal cases. Errors in judgment are costly.
- The Drug Problem in Apache County
Apache County ranks No. 2 in Arizona for meth use, creating serious long term social and financial problems. As County Attorney, fighting our drug problem will be a top priority.
- Honoring our Native American Culture
More than 75% of Apache County's residents are Native American. My education includes the study of Navajo Traditional Law. We must respect the legal needs of the Navajo and Apache people.
- Private Land Use and Zoning Ordinances
Only 13% of the county is privately owned. Land use and zoning ordinaces are a major concern of property owners. The County Attorney must provide sound advice to the county's government branches.
