A Note for Republicans and Independents
March 16, 2008
The Apache County primary elections will take place on September 2, 2008. Apache County is primarily Democrat and very few, if any, Republicans are running for office. What does this mean? If you want to vote for most of the elected positions listed below you must be registed as a Democrat or Independent.
Examples of county officials who you can select in the September 2, 2008, Democratic party primary include:
* County Attorney
* County Treasurer
* County Recorder
* County Assesor
* County School Superintendent
MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT
If you want to see Michael “By” Whiting, rather than Criss Candelaria, as Apache County’s Attorney, you can vote in the Democrat primary on September 2, 2008, but only if you are registred as a Democrat or an Independent.
REGISTER TO VOTE OR CHANGE YOUR PARTY
Voter registration closes at midnight, August 4. If you need to register to vote, visit Arizona’s EZvoter Online Registration service today. (Link opens in a new window).
EARLY BALLOTS
For the September Primary Election, a voter who requests an early ballot and is affiliated with a recognized party will receive that party’s ballot. If a voter is with a party that is not recognized and requests an early ballot, they must state the party ballot they are requesting (i.e. a voter who is Independent may request a Democratic ballot). Ballots are not automatically sent to a voter unless some type of request is received by the county recorder’s office.
YOUR VOTE CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE
The bottom line is that regardless of your party affiliation, if you do not vote in the primary election process, your preferred candidate might be eliminated as a candidate appearing on the ballot in the general election.

I am a registered Republican and am voting for Mr. Whiting. My reason? Criss Candelaria abuses his power for personal gain and for the gain of his friends and family members. If he isn’t voted out, he will probably be exposed in investigations by other governmental agencies. Don’t wait - let’s get rid of this jerk now!

Michael Whiting will be a breath of fresh air for our county. I look forward to fairness and respect for all of the citizens. PLUS, I hear he strums a mean guitar and is know as “George Strait” in some regions. Good luck Michael and we will spread the word: Apache County - Get Out and Vote for MICHAEL WHITING!!!

I will vote for Michael Whiting over Candelaria and am telling all of my neighbors, friends, strangers EVERYONE not to vote for Candelaria. HE is a hater of all people and has many other secrets he’s hiding…they WILL come out eventually and for the good of Apache County, we need to have Michael Whiting as our County Attorney. HE has been all over our county and doesn’t pick and choose to go to places, he goes everywhere. Go Michael we can’t wait to vote for you.
